The festive season is drawing near and soon enough mouthwatering and delicious foods will flood our dining tables. Without knowing it the vast majority of merry goers have just added extra weight and just slacked off on their fitness program.
Hot chocolate, eggnog, light beer and among other favorite holiday drinks seems enticing to drink, but unfortunately these sips are capable of adding weight to your bulging waistline.
Here is our short list of biggest offenders during the holiday season:
Hot Chocolate – This comforting and delicious drink can be so not merry especially to your waistline as it is fully loaded. Hot chocolate have generous amount of 410 calories, 20 grams of fat and 43 grams of sugar. If you want to keep on right track it is wise to shun away from this drink.
Gingerbread Latte – A spicy seasonal favorite, gingerbread latte can easily be made in your home. This warm and comforting drink is a little bit sweet and spicy, but be cautious as this drink contains 360 calories, 17 grams of fat and 39 grams of sugar.
Peppermint Mocha – This well-loved holiday favorite is combination of steamed milk, peppermint-flavored syrup, sweet sauce, and topped with whipped cream. Be mindful that this drink can be so naughty as it contains 440 calories, 19 grams of fat and 54 grams of sugar.
Egg Nog – This drink is one of the well-loved drinks during the holiday season and it is no doubt that this one is so delicious. But this drink is made up of milk or cream, sugar, whisky, brandy or rum, eggs, and sprinkled with cinnamon, nutmeg, and whipped cream. What does this imply? It means that one cup of egg nog drink contains 686 calories, 38 grams of fat, 44 grams of sugar and alcohol. It is advisable to steer clear from this tempting drink.
Bailey’s Irish Cream – This appears like a nice choice due to its 120-calorie count, but this is for just one ounce. Everyone usually drinks more than 1 oz., and even if your Dixie cup is ½ filled, you would still be gulping almost 500 calories and 20 grams of fat. This drink is tempting, but if you like to stay fit this holiday, it is wise to shun away from this drink.
